Top artists performing at the Paris Olympics 2024 closing ceremony ft. Billie Eilish and Red Hot Chili Peppers

After 16 days of extravagant sporting action, the Paris Olympics is now getting ready to pass on the baton to Los Angeles for the next Games in 2028. The closing ceremony of the event is scheduled to take place on Sunday (August 11), where artists like Billie Eilish and Red Hot Chili Peppers are expected to perform, as per Variety.

The closing festivities will be hosted by the iconic Stade de France, where a grand party will be organized to celebrate the success of the athletes, and it will also be a tribute to Paris for hosting the event. Meanwhile, the Olympic flag will also be handed over to LA for the upcoming Games. Thomas Jolly, the artistic director who masterminded the opening ceremony on July 26, is once again set to take charge of wrapping up the event on August 11.

The Stade de France arena, with approximately 80,000 seating capacity, will be converted into an enormous concert hall to host the 'Record,' the name given to the closing ceremony by Thomas Jolly. A bunch of dancers, acrobats, and other creative performers are set to showcase their artistry on Sunday.

One of pop culture's biggest icons, Billie Eilish, is expected to take center stage at the closing ceremony. She will be joined by the American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers and rap legend Snoop Dogg, who cheered for the athletes throughout the Paris Olympics. Ben Winston, the popular producer known for his works on Grammy events and other major productions, is coordinating with the French producers for the performances at the closing ceremony.

Apart from Billie Eilish and Snoop Dogg, Hollywood legend Tom Cruise is also expected to perform a series of daring bike stunts during the event. After his stunts, the musical performances will kick off.

Talking about the Paris Olympics and its influence, Thomas Jolly was quoted as saying by olympics.com:

"On 11 August 2024, the Olympic Games will be over, and the Olympic flame will be extinguished. hat moment will remind us just how precious these Olympic Games are - a unique monument to a shared experience - and therefore fragile."

He added:

"This moment of celebration will also be an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the Olympic Games in our society."

Jolly also promised the Paris Olympics closing ceremony to be a stunning visual spectacle filled with acrobatics.
