Sha'Carri Richardson showed off her Zurich Diamond League trophy, calling it the 'twin' of her 2023 Zurich Diamond League laurel. Richardson won the 100m in 10.84s in Zurich, avenging her Olympic loss to Saint Lucian sprinter, Julien Alfred.

Richardson narrowly missed out on her Tokyo Olympics participation after testing positive for a banned substance. The 24-year-old pulled herself back and etched her name as the reigning World Champion, winning the 100m in 10.65s (championship record) at the 2023 Worlds. She also added the 4x100m relay gold to her repertoire.

The 24-year-old continued her 100m winning form at the 2023 Zurich Diamond League. She took the lead in the middle of the race and clocked 10.88s, ahead of her rivals. Cut to 2024, the Texas native did it again at the 2024 Diamond League Zurich Weltkasse, clocking 10.84s and avenging her Olympic loss to Julien Alfred.

In her Instagram story, Richardson flaunted her Zurich trophy and called it the 'twin' of her laurel earned at the same Diamond League installment.

At the 2024 Paris Games, the reigning World champion missed the top spot and finished with silver in 10.87s. Alfred had a faster start than Richardson and maintained her pace, winning in 10.72s (national record).

However, she ran the anchor leg of the 4x100m relay in Paris and claimed the win with her US teammates. Her iconic stare before touching the finish line left the internet abuzz amid the Games.

Before the Zurich finals, Sha'Carri Richardson appeared at the contentious 100m clash between her LSU mate Mondo Duplantis and 400m hurdler Karsten Warholm. She was a part of Duplantis' walkout team and cheered him on as the pole vaulter clocked 10.37s to take the win.

Sha'Carri Richardson confidently glanced to her right before touching the 4x100m relay finish line in Paris, following which her stare-down was dubbed the 'Sha'Carri Stare'. The 24-year-old cleared the air of speculation and shared her mindset of not allowing anybody to surpass her in the race.

"I looked over and I just knew that no matter what was going on, there was nobody that I was going to allow — even myself — to be in front of me. I wasn't going to even allow myself to not cross that finish line in first place and not get that medal, or to let down those ladies and the support that we received when it comes to us crossing the finish line, in first place as Team USA," she said. The 24-year-old expressed her desire to hang a snap of her iconic moment in the Louvre Museum in Paris. Her next event is the Diamond League finals in Brussels, set for September 13 -14, 2024.
