The U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials 2024 will witness a few top gymnasts vie for their first Olympic quota to compete in Paris. Apart from gymnasts with the likes of Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, and Suni Lee, who will contend to repeat their Olympic glory, Shilese Jones, Kaliya Lincoln, Joscelyn Roberson, and Simone Rose will compete to reach the highest sporting event for the first time.
After withdrawing from the 2024 US, Gymnastics Championships, citing a shoulder injury, Jones will compete in the Trials following the approval of her petition. Jones has been a six-time world championship medalist, including two gold medals in the team event at the 2022 Liverpool and 2023 Antwerp editions. She secured a silver medal in all-around and uneven bars and a bronze medal in the same events.
Jones was placed in second position in the all-around event at the Core Hydration Classic and secured a gold medal in uneven bars and a silver medal in floor exercise.
Jones will be joined by the 2023 Pan American Games team and floor exercise gold medalist Kaliya Lincoln. Similar to Jones, Lincoln also issued a petition to compete at the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials after withdrawing from the National Gymnastics Championships, where she collected 12.700 points on the uneven bars and 12.300 points on the balance beam.
18-year-old Joscelyn Roberson will also compete at the Trials to punch her first Olympic ticket after settling in tenth place in the all-around event and fourth in the floor exercise at the National Championships. The above gymnasts will be joined by Hezly Rivera, Simone Rose, and Tiana Sumanasekera.
