Following solid performances at the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and Core Hydration Classic this season, where she obtained all-around scores of 119.750 and 59.500, Simone Biles will be entering the 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials as the pre-event favorite in the women’s all-around.

At the Rio Olympics, Biles collected a remarkable 5 medals, which included four gold and one bronze. However, during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she had to withdraw from multiple events after the first rotation of the women’s team final as she encountered ‘Twisties’. She took home two medals from her Tokyo campaign: a bronze in the balance beam and a silver in the team events.

At the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Biles, though, will be aiming for a record-breaking performance. The 27-year-old demonstrated her extreme dominance at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships last year when she won a silver in the vault and four of the six gold medals available in the women's division.

Despite being just 21 years old, Suni Lee has faced several challenges, including battling an incurable health issue, dealing with eczema, and managing mental health problems. The Tokyo Olympics all-around champion even faced an early setback in 2024 at the Winter Cup, where she could only manage a 13th-place finish in the balance beam.

However, she made a great comeback at the 2024 Core Hydration Classic by topping the balance beam in the presence of a competitive field, scoring 14.600 points. Lee displayed a brilliant performance at the 2024 U.S. Championships, securing a combined total of 110.650 to place fourth, and will look for a similar show at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials.

Chiles has also had a fantastic season, placing third and fifth in the all-around at the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and the U.S. Classic, respectively.
