U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials Results:Katie Ledecky cruises to 200m freestyle final, Nic Fink books Paris berth in 100m breaststroke| Day2

After an exhilarating Day 1 at the 2024 U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials, elite American swimmers entered the pool to earn an Olympic spot, displaying their potential before the Paris Games. Day 2 of the 2024 U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials at the Lucas Oil Stadium featured multiple events, including 200m freestyle, 400m individual medley, 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke.

Nic Fink secured the Olympic berth in the men's 100m breaststroke after posting a remarkable time of 59.08 seconds. He defeated Swanson Charlie and Matheny Josh, who clocked 59.16 and 59.23 seconds, respectively.

After setting a world record in the 100m butterfly semifinal on Day 1 of the Trials, Walsh cruised to the top position in the final by registering 55.31 seconds. She surpassed Torri Huske (55.52 s) and (Regan Smith 55.62s).

Katie Ledecky earned a spot to compete in the 200m freestyle final. She defeated Claire Weinstein (1:55.86) and Paige Madden (1:56.36) after clocking 1:55.25. She will compete in the final on Monday, June 17, 2024, to pursue an Olympic berth to earn her second gold medal in the event.
