Fans were enthralled on Day 4 of the 2024 U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials as Regan Smith registered a stunning world record on Day 4 of the event in the women's 100m backstroke. Day 4 of the event, i.e. Tuesday, June 18, 2024, featured multiple events for male and female swimmers, including the 200m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 1500m freestyle, and 100m backstroke.

A three-time Olympic medalist, Smith clocked a commendable time of 57.13 seconds in the 100m backstroke to register a world record after defeating Katharine Berkoff (57.91) and Kennedy Noble (58.81).

After grabbing the Olympic spots in the 200m and 400m freestyle events, Katie Ledecky has secured a spot to compete in the finals for the 1500m at the 2024 U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials, clocking 15:39.73in the heats.

The Tokyo Olympic 800m freestyle gold medalist Robert Finke clinched the spot to compete in Paris, registering a stunning time of 7:44.22 to leave behind Luke Whitlock and Daniel Matheson, who clocked 7:45.19 and 7:49.34, respectively.
