U23 Wrestling World Championships 2024 Results: Aues Gonibov and Hayk Khloyan dominate the men's greco-roman event

The 2024 U23 Wrestling World Championships are in full swing, captivating audiences with fierce competition in Tirana, Albania. The U23 Wrestling World Championships are slated from October 21 to 27, 2024, at the Tirana Olympic Park.

The event will feature more than 650 wrestlers. It will feature three categories, including freestyle, greco-roman, and women's wrestling, with 240 wrestlers in the former two events and 184 wrestlers in the latter event, respectively.

So far, the championships witnessed action-packed faceoffs in the Greco-Roman event, with the finals held on October 22 and 23, 2024. The finals for women's wrestling will be held on October 24 and 25, 2024, with the finals for men's freestyle event on October 26 and 27, 2024.

U23 Wrestling World Championships Results

Ali Abdollah Ahmadi of Iran dominated the Greco-Roman event in the 55 kg category after defeating Azerbaijan's Rashad Mammadov with a decisive lead of 11-3 points.

The 97 kg category was dominated by Hayk Khloyan of Armenia. He achieved this feat by overpowering Abubakar Khaslakhanau. The bronze medals in the category were clinched by Magomed Adbulaevitch Murtazaliev and Shayan Gholamhossein Habibzare after defeating Anton Erich and Richard Karelson, respectively.
