Day 6 of the U23 Wrestling World Championships thrilled the spectators and fans at the Tirana Olympic Park in Tirana, Albania, by featuring a few intensifying bouts. The Championships,that kicked off on Monday, will come to a conclusion on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
A total of 650 wrestlers are vying against each other in the three events across freestyle, greco-roman, and women's wrestling.
Days 2, 3, 4, and 5 witnessed the final bouts for greco-roman and women's wrestling. Day 6 of the tournament, which took place on October 26, witnessed the faceoffs in the men's freestyle event in multiple categories, including 61 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 92 kg, and 125 kg.
Day 7 will feature the final events for the men's freestyle wrestling categories, including 57kg, 65kg, 70kg, 79kg, and 97kg. On that note, let's take a look at the results of the men's freestyle events at the U23 Wrestling World Championships on Day 6.
U23 Wrestling World Championships 2024 Results for men's freestyle wrestling category
The United States' Jacob Thomas Cardenas bagged second place in the 92kg category after his bout with Iran's Amirhossein Biglar Firouzpourbandpei, which ended in a 11-4 win for the latter. Mustafagadzhi Malachdibiro and Ion Demian both secured bronze medals in the category.
Mitchell Owen Mesenbrink of the United States collected the bronze medal in the 74 kg after winning the bout by points 6-0 over Bahrain's Magomedrasul Shakhban.
