The Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony is hours away from kicking off and as the excitement around the mega event increases, the USA Women's gymnastics team led by Simone Biles was the center of attention on July 25. The team took to podium training inside the Bercy Arena on Thursday and looked in perfect shape ahead of the Games.
Team USA started the action on the balance beam with Jordan Chiles doing the first routine. She was followed by Hezly Rivera and Suni Lee and then came the highly-awaited Biles. Jade Carey followed her. All five gymnasts looked in perfect rhythm, both on the balance beam and the other three apparatus.
Let's take a look at some of the highlights from USA women's gymnastics’ podium training at Paris Olympics 2024:
Suni Lee hits incredible connections with mastery on uneven bars

Suni Lee starred in her premier apparatus with a mesmerizing routine during the podium training. While the defending all-around champion didn't try out the full-twisting Jaeger and hasn't applied for it as well, she hit some amazing connections nonetheless.
Lee connected Nabieva to Bhardwaj to Van Leeuwen and followed it up with Jaeger to Pak Salto to Maloney to Gienger connection. The 21-year-old looked strong on the balance beam and vault as well.
Jade Carey strong on balance beam and floor routines

Jade Carey, the floor Olympic champion, was impressive on balance beam and floor exercise. She started with a forward roll mount on beam and then turned to front aerial, multiple switches, and splits before ending with a double Pike.
Carey started with Moors on the floor and then turned to a double layout. Following multiple switches, half and full both, the defending floor champion did a tour before stuttering a bit at the end. Nonetheless, she looks ready to win a medal again on the floor at the Paris Olympics.
Simone Biles ‘unreal’ Yurchenko Double Pike highlight of Paris Olympics podium training

Simone Biles continues to amaze and it was yet another day when the American gymnast turned heads. She hit an incredibly perfect Yurchenko Double Pike on the vault, soaring high above the vault before twisting and making two full rotations in the air. The landing, as always, was perfect.
Biles is the only gymnast in history to perform the skill, and it has been named after her, ‘Biles II on vault’. She looked strong on the floor and balance beam as well and should be returning with multiple gold medals from the Paris Olympics 2024.
