American sprinter Trayvon Bromell recently began his Olympic season at the East Coast Relays competing in the 100m sprint. Bromell, a former World Championship bronze medalist, is the sixth fastest athlete to run the 100m and the 60m.
Trayvon Bromell began the 2024 season with the upcoming Olympic trials in foresight. Competing at the East Cost Relays, he was lined up against some of the fastest 100m athletes in the world. Bromell raced alongside Tokyo Olympic Gold medalists Andre De Grasse and Marcell Jacobs.
The race began with all three athletes having a great start and narrowed down to Andre De Grasse and Marcell Jacobs leading the pack towards the end. De Grasse and Jacobs completed the race in a photo finish, clocking 10.11s to lead to a tie, followed by Bromell who completed the race in 10.14s.

Trayvon Bromell opened up on his Tokyo Olympics campaign
Trayvon Bromell marched into the Tokyo Olympics as his second appearance at the quadrennial major games. The American athlete had set several goals before moving forward with the campaign.
He opened up to the Guardian and revealed his plans.
“This Olympics is important to me but not for the same reasons as other athletes. A lot of people want a gold medal. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I don’t. But my biggest purpose is change. I just want to give hope. I want kids to see me, and see that they could do it too," Bromell said.
Trayvon Bromell approached the major games with a different mindset as he was already in great form after clocking a personal best and world lead time. However, things did not go according to plan after he failed to secure a position in the 100m final after placing third in the semi-final.
