Team USA's swimming contingent went to the Paris Olympics intending to improve their medal tally from the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. In Tokyo, Team USA won 30 swimming medals, down from the 33 they won at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

At the Paris Olympics, US swimmers have won 28 medals, with eight of those being gold. The team claimed 13 silver and seven bronze medals.

Following this performance at the Paris Olympics, many fans remain disappointed despite Team US topping the medal table. Australia is second on the table with 18 medals: seven gold, eight silver, and three bronze medals.

One fan says the team needs to "get it together" before the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Another was underwhelmed by the performances, calling them "below average".

"Do NOT embarrass us like this in 2028 for our home Olympics btw @USASwimming," a fan wrote.
"USA Swimming better get its shit together before LA because this is a whole lot of first and second loser performances," another shared.
"Australia to the USA in swimming," a third fan opined.

Team USA’s swimmers closed the curtains at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with two world records from Bobby Finke and the women's 4x100m medley relay.

Finke impressed in the men’s individual 1500m freestyle with a gold medal and a world record.

On top of Finke’s world record, Team USA earned gold and silver medals respectively in the women’s and men’s 4x100m medley relay to end the night in Paris. China outsmarted the US to take the crown in the men’s 4x100m medley relay.

The women meant business when they struck with a world record time of 3:49.63 to win. This comes after they won a silver medal at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
