Jordan Burroughs comments on qualifying for the Wrestling World Championships
Jordan Burroughs had a rough time during the Paris Olympics as he couldn't qualify for the event. However, the 36-year-old made his comeback after winning at the World Team Trials and getting selected for the Wrestling World Championships for the tenth time in his career.
Following this victory, he took a dig at Penn State University and detailed his difficult time there. Burroughs also talked about the significance of qualifying at the World Team Trials.
“You know, it's been a hard six months for me. It's been a really hard six months for me. I wasn't sure if I was going to continue to wrestle. Every day is, you know, trying to battle back from my experience at Penn State. Their fans, their coaches, their wrestlers, they discarded (me), made me feel like an outcast in a sport that I helped build. It's been hard, it's been hard. So this is very satisfying for me, it's very satisfying," Jordan Burroughs said.
Jordan Burroughs made it to the 10th Wrestling World Championships Team of his career by defeating Chance Marsteller 6-3 at the World Team Trials and will be looking to add to his tally of six Wrestling World Championship gold medals.
