With the Paris Olympics 2024 is set to start in just a few months, the list of major track and field events for the US athletes, that will be held before the quadrennial tournament, was released. The lineup consists of eight major tournaments before the start of the Paris Olympics in July.
The 2024 edition of the Prefontaine Classic is the first tournament to look out for en route to the Paris Olympics. The event is scheduled for May 25 and will be held at the Hayward Field in the University of Oregon.
After the conclusion of the Prefontaine Classic, two Wanda Diamond League meets are scheduled in Oslo and Stockholm and will begin on May 30 and June 2, respectively. Prominent stars such as Shericka Jackson will feature at the Diamond League event in Stockholm.
The final tournament to gear up preparations before the US Olympic trials will be the USATF NYC Grand Prix scheduled for June 9 and will be held at the Icahn Stadium in New York.
Following the NYC Grand Prix, the US Olympic Track and Field Trials will be held in Eugene. Scheduled between June 21 and 30, the event will consist of all the big names of the US athletics circuit such as Noah Lyles, Christian Coleman, Sha'Carri Richardson, and many more.
With a singular aim of making it to the US team for the Paris Olympics, the event will be a spectacle in itself before the greatest sporting event of the year in Paris.
After the conclusion of the trials, three consecutive Wanda Diamond League meets are scheduled in Paris (June 7), Monaco (June 12), and London (June 20) respectively. These Diamond League meets will be an excellent destination for the athletes to carry out their training and gain competitive momentum before the Olympics.
