Eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt commented on racing US track veteran Michael Johnson. Even though Johnson retired a few years before Bolt made his senior debut in 2004, a battle between these two top athletes would have been a spectacle to behold.

Across his decorated career, Johnson mostly competed in the 400m and 200m events, unlike Bolt whose major focus was the 100m and 200m. Bolt's personal best run times are also better than that of Johnson over most of the distances except the 400m.

In a recent interview with High Performance, the Jamaican was asked about his opinion of the race results between him and Johnson. In reply, Bolt boldly stated that Johnson would not be able to beat him. He also narrated a funny incident involving Johnson that he experienced in 2008.

He said (at 54:10):

"There's no way he's gonna beat me. I remember one of the funniest videos I remember in '08, I don't remember who he was but I think it was BBC he was broadcasting with."

Bolt added:

"If you go on the net you can find his video and they were asking him, "Oh do you think he's gonna break the record?" and he was like no I think his mechanics needs some work and then in the same day I broke the world record."

Usain Bolt was the first athlete to break Michael Johnson's 200m world record (19.32 seconds) in 2009. He achieved this feat at the 2009 IAAF World Championships when he clocked a run time of 19.19s to better the record by 0.13s.

Usain Bolt recently opened up about one major highlight of his decorated track career which includes numerous Olympic and World Championships laurels.

Speaking during an interview with High Performace, Bolt revealed that one of his proudest moments came when he clinched his first victories in Jamaica. He said (at 51:11)

"One of my greatest moments that I love is it was the first time I won in front of my home crowd. I think that made such a big impact on my life."

At the 2002 World Junior Championships, Bolt clinched three medals in his hometown, Kingston. He won the 200m event with a run time of 20.61s and was part of the relay teams that won silver medals in the 4x100 and 4x400m events.
