Eight-time Olympic gold medalist, Usain Bolt recently reacted to a video showcasing a comparison between the speed of various animals and the fastest human on the planet.
As per the comparison, Bolt who is statistically the fastest human being on the planet, could most probably have an average ground speed of 36 km/hr over a 500m race and that would be the slowest when compared to other animals such as cheetahs, mountain goats, and ostriches.
The fastest average speed of an animal over the 500m race was the cheetah (113km/hr) which could probably complete the race in just 16 seconds while the second fastest animal was the antelope which could touch the finishing line in 20.5 seconds with an average speed of 88 km/hr.
Usain Bolt reacted to the video shared on X and gave a humorous yet subtle reply. The Jamaican track and field athlete retweeted the video and wrote in the caption:
"Ouch "
In his legendary career, Usain Bolt's highest-ever recorded average ground speed was 37.58 km/hr which came at the 2009 World Athletics (then IAAF) championships in Berlin.
The Jamaican registered a run time of just 9.58 seconds to complete the 100m dash and set the world record in the event, a feat that still exists after 15 years. During the race, Bolt's highest recorded speed was 44.72 km/hr which came between the 60-80m mark.
Usain Bolt opens up on racing with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill
Usain Bolt recently reacted to the probability of him going on head-to-head against Miami Dolphins wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, in a race. This scenario emerged after Hill had a bit of a tussle with the current 100m Olympic champion Noah Lyles and had challenged him over a race.
When asked in a recent interview about this face-off, Bolt didn't shy off from giving a bold reply. He claimed that he had already asked Hill that if the latter was serious then they could figure out a proper plan for the race. He said (during an interview with TMZ):
"I told him man if he's really serious we can figure it out because first time I met him, he was always talking you know he just kept talking so it would be good to put it to bed. "
During the conversation, Bolt also said that he needs to boost his training to have a proper race against Hill as the Jamaican has retired from the track and has to get back the momentum.
