Kim Ye-ji, the South Korean pistol shooter, will kick off her acting career as an assassin in the global project Asia's short-form series, 'Crush'. The Republic of Korea athlete garnered worldwide fame for her 'main character energy' and shooting skills after a video from the 2023 ISSF World Cup event went viral. She also secured the Olympic silver medal in the 10m air pistol event at the 2024 Games.
Ye-ji, 32, who claimed the 25m pistol gold and 10m air pistol silver at the 2024 Baku World Cup, caught the attention of many with her calm demeanor, advanced shooting glasses, and cold look, as seen in a recently resurfaced video. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she maintained her impressive performance and won the 10m air pistol silver, mirroring her appearance and energy from Baku.
Now, she has made her way to the big screen as an assassin, poised to debut in 'Crush', a short-form series within the global film project, Asia. Kim Ye-ji will be sharing the screen with Indian television celebrity, Anushka Sen, who has a massive following of 39.4 million on Instagram. The series will revolve around crime and racial discrimination.
In a brief clip from the upcoming action series, she was seen exuding the same charisma and 'main character energy' as she taught Sen shooting techniques.
Kim Ye-ji became an overnight sensation alongside another shooter from Turkey, Yusuf Dikec, who clinched the 10m air pistol mixed team silver without any specialized equipment. Joining them in viral memes was US gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, who was seen with his head tilted back and eyes closed before his pommel horse finals performance.
