Quincy Wilson ran a 40-yard dash against former college and professional football player, Channing Crowder. Wilson was ahead of the Miami Dolphins linebacker in the race, cruising to the finish line at lightning speed. Wilson won his maiden Olympic gold in the men's 4x400m relay.

Quincy Wilson, competed in his best event, the 400m, at the 2024 US Olympic Trials to secure a berth at the Paris Games. His time of 44.66 in the first round marked the U-18 world best, which lowered to 44.59s in the semifinals. At the 400m finals, he clocked 44.94s, placing sixth and missing qualification in the 400m individual.

Instead, he was placed in the 4x400m relay team and became the youngest American track and field athlete to reach the Olympics. As the leadoff leg in the men's 4x400m relay in Paris, Quincy Wilson clocked a split time of 47.27s, poorer than his teammates. Despite not running in the finals, he earned the gold with his team as the youngest track and field athlete in history.

Shortly after, the Virginia native engaged in a friendly competition with former NFL player Channing Crowder, who sportingly ran with the Olympian in the 40-yard dash. In the video posted by a fan on X, Wilson was seen set off at a blistering pace, way ahead of the former NFL linebacker.

Despite losing, Channing Crowder set an example of sportsmanship by shaking hands with his contender.

The 16-year-old's split second of 47.30 placed him seventh in the 4x400m relay qualification round race before handing the baton to Vernon Norwood. Despite the slow start, the US team picked up pace and Christopher Bailey surged to third, finishing in a time of 2:59.15.

Unpleased with his performance, the American shared that it was his teammates who did it for him.

"I know I wasn't 100% myself, but my team came out here and did it for me," Wilson said after the relay. "They got me around the track today. My grit and determination got me around the track. I knew I had a great three legs behind me and I know it wasn't just myself today," he said. (via USA Today)

He also said that the team would be in last place had he been alone in the race.

"If it was just myself, we would be in last place. But these guys came out there and gave it their all. From first, all the way to fourth leg, they ran their hearts out."

Quincy Wilson won the 400m title at the New Balance National Indoors in 45.76s, setting the national high school indoor record. His effort would have placed him fourth in the 400m finals of the 2024 World Indoor Championships, Glasgow.
