Alica Schmidt shared glimpses of workout outfits from her training camp in South Africa. The German is currently gearing up for the upcoming 2025 season.
Schmidt wrapped up her 2024 season after competing at the Paris Olympics, where she fell short of attaining a podium finish in any event at the French Capital. The athlete took part in her first training camp for the 2025 season and shared glimpses of the outfits she wore.
In an Instagram video shared on 21 January, Schmidt showcased beige, blue, white, and other BOSS gym outfits, with the in-video caption reading:
"Looks I wore this training camp."
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Alica Schmidt took part in the women's 4x100m relay and mixed 4x100m relay dashes, representing Germany. The teams faced a similar fate in both events, finishing in seventh place in heat 2 of the race and falling short of making it to the finals.
Following her disappointing campaign at the French Capital, Schmidt took to her social media handle to reflect on her Paris Olympics experience.
Alica Schmidt opened up about her Paris Olympics experience
Alica Schmidt's Paris Olympics campaign did not end on a positive note as the German failed to clinch a medal. Following this, she opened up about her experience through a post on Instagram. Sharing a carousel of pictures on August 14, 2024, Schmidt wrote:
"The Olympics are not just about winning medals," Alica Schmidt wrote. "It‘s about being alongside inspiring athletes while competing at the highest level. Showing ambition, celebrating diversity and people no matter who they are and where they are from."
Reflecting on an 'emotional' campaign, the 26-year-old expressed gratitude for her fans and hoped to inspire the upcoming generation of track and field athletes.
"The past weeks were an emotional rollercoaster and I was able to learn a lot. As an athlete I am still not where I want to be and maybe I will never be. But the one thing that is for sure: I will never stop trying and figuring out ways to improve. I love taking you guys with me on this journey and hope to inspire young athletes and show how amazing this sport can be!"
Months after this campaign, Alica Schmidt announced a major change in her career, shifting to the 800m race from her patent 400m race.
