Alica Schmidt recently shared a carousel of 43 pictures showcasing her 2024 year featuring the Paris Olympics and her post-season vacations. Schmidt represented the German squad in the 4x400m mixed relay event at the French Capital.

In the video, the sprinter shared a few glimpses from her year, including her second appearance at the Olympic Games, her post-season vacations, high-altitude training camp in South Africa, as well as her 26th birthday.

She shared a few glimpses of the latest Games, where the sprinter along with her teammates, including Paul Bredau, Manuel Sanders, and Eileen Demes, settled in seventh place in the heats round of the 4x400m mixed relay after clocking a time of 3:15.63.

After the Olympics, the 26-year-old enjoyed an extensive vacation and shared the pictures in the video. She visited Thailand, Italy, and Maldives, where Schmidt rode a jet ski and participated in a charity run.

Donning a white dress, the German sprinter celebrated her 26th birthday with her friends and family on November 8, 2024. She commemorated her 2024 Olympics experience with a permanent tattoo as she got the Olympic rings inked on the side of her upper thigh.

Further, she shared a few glimpses of her recent high-altitude training camp. South Africa was also present at the premiere of "Bad Boys," and was seen posing for pictures with Hollywood actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Alica Schmidt announces her decision to compete in 800m event in the upcoming season

After having mostly competed in the 400m event throughout the year, Alica Schmidt announced her decision to compete in the 800m event alongside her pet event in the upcoming season. In an Instagram post shared on November 10, she wrote that the decision was influenced by the promise she made to herself in 2022.

"After Paris, I tried something new and ran a 800m & 600m and really enjoyed pushing out of my comfort zone," Schmidt wrote. "Back in 2022, I decided that I wanted to give the 800m a shot after the Paris Olympics, so now it means… I’m going for it next year 👀

"I‘m super excited for this new challenge and what it will bring ✨ (I‘m also going to run the 400m but focus more on the endurance part in training for now) Let this journey begin .. xoxo."

Schmidt also competed in the women's 4x400m relay, with the team falling short of qualifying for the final round.
