"My Olympic journey has been really, really hard," - Anna Hall reflects on her challenge-ridden quest
After her recent feat in Eugene, Anna Hall reflected on her arduous journey to the Olympics. At the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials, she hit the eighth hurdle in the 100m hurdles event and suffered a major injury to her navicular bone on her left foot, crushing her Olympic dream.
Further, before the 2023 WAC she sustained a major injury during a training session. However, she went ahead to secure a silver medal in Budapest. Reflecting on her injury-ridden journey, she spoke to Olympics.com, stating her joy after punching a ticket to Paris.
"I've wanted this for so long and my Olympic journey has been really, really hard," said Hall. "2021 was absolutely devastating. It's just been a lot of adversity and a lot of doubt. And so, just the relief... Like, we finally made it. I'm just really thankful."
"I just really tapped into my self-belief again. I had to tap into the competitor that I am. And I kept telling myself that [I'm] one of the toughest competitors out here, so act like it."
Anna Hall will compete against the 2023 WAC gold medalist Katarina Johnson-Thompson at the 2024 Paris Olympics, among other athletes.
