BTS’ Jin, or Kim Seok-jin, finally participated in the Olympic Torch Relay in France ahead of the upcoming Paris Olympics. The K-pop singer kicked off the event as the first torchbearer for the Louvre Pyramid Museum section in Paris on July 14.
Olympic Torch is a historic event as well as a part of Olympic tradition, which was first started at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games. It was inspired by ancient Greek practices and transmits a message of peace.
Over the years, several big celebrities have participated in the event, and Jin, who is one of the most popular K-pop singers in the world right now, was chosen as a torchbearer by the Olympic organizers. He announced his participation on July 2nd, and fans have since been eagerly waiting to see him hold the Olympic relay Torch.
The highly anticipated moment arrived as BTS's Jin became the first torchbearer in the Louvre section of the torch relay for the Paris 2024 Olympics on July 14. Jin, who was wearing a white tracksuit, was spotted with a massive entourage and fans around him as he carried his way through the alleys in Paris at the Louvre Pyramid Museum.
Meanwhile, French icons Thierry Henry and Romane Dicko carried the torch around Paris on July 14, which marked Bastille Day in France.

BTS’ Jin, football legend Thierry Henry, and Judo star Romane Dicko were among the most popular torchbearers on the 14th of July, which was the 57th stage of the event, and the first in Paris. Over the past 56 stages, several big stars have held the torch, and with 11 more stages to go, several more are expected to be part of it.
American actress Halle Berry participated in stage 34 of the Olympic Torch Relay tradition in Alpes-Maritimes. Former USWNT player Megan Rapinoe and former US basketball player and five-time Olympic champion Sue Bird were also part of the 34th stage.
Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc also held the torch at Alpes-Maritimes, and he was joined by three-time Olympic champion Shaun White. Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger held the torch in Alsace during the 41st stage. Some of the other stars who participated in the Olympic Torch Relay include Antoine Dupont, Tony Parker, Perrine Laffont, and Anne-Sophie Pic.
