Caeleb Dressel opens up about competing at the 2028 LA Olympics
Caeleb Dressel opened up about competing at the 2028 Olympics in his home country, the United States (Los Angeles). Dressel has represented the national team in three quadrennial Games and has amassed 10 overall medals.
Dressel said in an interview with Forbes that he wishes to be in Los Angeles and compete in all three of his specializations, 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle, and 100m butterfly. He also expressed his love for swimming. He said (via Forbes):
"I'm really not sure. I would love to swim in LA and not just the 50. If I could swim my normal three events, that would be fantastic. It's just that there is a little bit of a perspective change for me with a son on the way. I mean, this sport's given me everything. I love being with a team."
Dressel added:
"So yeah, I'm certainly not going to rule out LA 2028. It's always been my dream to compete there, and if I can swim 50 free and make the team, great."
During the interview, Caeleb Dressel also added that this decision will take some time for him as he will discuss it with several people, including his coach, Anthony Nesty.
