Celine Dion is reportedly set to make her singing comeback during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony on July 26. The Canadian singer was spotted arriving at the Royal Monceau Hotel in the French Capital on July 23.

Dion, who is referred to as the ‘Queen of Power Ballads’, performed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics opening ceremony. She was relatively lesser known then, but a mesmerizing performance of ‘The Power of the Dream’ skyrocketed her popularity around the world.

According to a report by Variety, the 52-year-old is set to return to the Olympic stage at the opening ceremony, which will take place on July 26. It will be her first musical performance since canceling her tour in 2022. Dion had announced that she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).

Celine Dion has now arrived in Paris at the Royal Monceau Hotel near the Champs-Elysees ahead of her reported singing comeback. She was spotted wearing a black and white suit.

In April this year, Dion had teased her comeback and stated that she wanted to see the Eiffel Tower again.

“I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again," she told Vogue France.

The opening ceremony will take place via parade through the Seine River, passing several landmarks in the French Capital including Notre-Dame, Louvre, and Grand Palais. It will culminate near the Trocadero, which faces the Eiffel Tower.

Nonetheless, the Paris Olympics ceremony is set to be a historic one. It is the first time in history that the event will be taking place outside a stadium, and while there remains ambiguity over the big artists performing, around 3500 local actors and dancers are confirmed to be participating in the event.
