After creating history at the Paris Olympics with three gold medals, Gabrielle 'Gabby' Thomas is looking forward to Alexis Ohanion's Athlos Meet. This will be her final track event for this year.

The 27-year-old recently wrote about the upcoming meet in one of her Instagram stories.

"Time to dust off the spikes, it's race week,” she wrote.

Thomas had also expressed her enthusiasm for this exclusive meet previously. She had spoken in an interview [via Athlos on X]:

"Athlos definitely feels like an event where finally we, as female athletes, have some ownership, We have some say. We have a big part in its creation. I'm excited.”

Thomas is not the only major athlete taking part in the Athlos meet. Olympic champions like Faith Kipyegon and Alexis Holmes are also participating in the prestigious event, which will initially have only six events, viz. 100m, 100m hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m. The winner of each event takes home the prize money of $60000, while the runner up takes home $25000 and the second runner-up takes home $15000.

Thomas took part in the women's 200m, the women's 4x100m relay, as well as the women's 4x400m relay. Against all expectations, the 27-year-old athlete won all the events, adding to the silver and bronze medals she won at the Tokyo Olympics in women's 4x100m relay and women's 200m, respectively.
