Gabby Thomas marked her 28th birthday with a major accomplishment, receiving the esteemed 2024 Jackie Joyner-Kersee Athlete of the Year Award. She was presented with the award at the 2024 Night of Legends on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Orlando.

The recent recognition highlights her exceptional achievements in 2024, including the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. At the French capital, the American athlete became the most decorated track and field athlete, bagging three gold medals. She dominated the 200m event by outpacing the 100m champion Julien Alfred and fellow teammate Brittany Brown.

While Alfred and Brown clocked times of 22.08 and 22.20 seconds, Thomas dominated the event with 21.83 seconds, collecting her first Olympic gold medal. She celebrated her birthday and the glorious achievement with an iconic song.

Flaunting her award and scrumptious birthday cake she was seen grooving to Childish Gambino's "Do Ya Like" song with the lyrics:

"I love fast women, Jackie Joyner-Kersee. Have your cake and eat it, baby, it's your birthday."

Donning a shimmering dress, paired with silver hoops, she shared the video and wrote:

"POV: You just won the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Athlete of the Year Award on your birthday."
"And they got me a birthday cake omg?! 🎂 🏃🏾‍♀️ 🩷," Thomas captioned the video.

Joyner-Kersee competed in the heptathlon and long jump events. Throughout her illustrious career, she collected six Olympic and four world championship medals.

Gabby Thomas recently made an appearance at the 38th annual 2024 Footwear News Achievement Awards to represent New Balance, who was nominated for the Company of the Year award. The high-profile event was held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Cipriani South Street in New York City.

Having been associated with the brand since 2018, Thomas was seen donning the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp MD-X v3 spikes during the 200m at the French capital.

For the FNAA awards, Thomas was seen donning a black blazer and short skirt with a big white bow attached to it. She improvised the look with black socks and boots and completed the outfit with minimal jewelry, including diamond earrings and rings.

While giving glimpses of the night, she was seen clicking pictures with a few influential personalities, including Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Rihanna.

Along with the 200m event, Thomas also contributed to the team in the women's 4x100m and 4x400m relay events in Paris.
