Ilona Maher and Stephen Nedroscik engaged in a serious rock, paper, and scissor game ahead of their Dancing With The Stars appearance. Following their successful run at the Paris Olympics, Maher and Nedroscik are navigating a tight schedule, making media appearances and training for the 33rd season of Dancing With the Stars.

While Nedroscik secured two bronze medals in the team and pommel horse events, Maher contributed to her team's efforts to secure their first Olympic medal at the French capital. The United States women's national rugby sevens team defeated the Australian team 14-12 to bag a bronze medal.

Following the Paris Games, the gymnast and the rugby union player have attracted the spotlight and were invited to dance their way onto Dancing with the Stars. The 33rd season of Dancing With the Stars will premiere on ABC on September 17, 2024.

Ahead of their appearance, Maher is frequently seen sharing a few glimpses of her practice sessions for the show. In a recent video, she was seen playing a rock, paper, and scissor game with Nedroscik. The gymnast was seen teasing Maher with some playful trash talk.

Maher won the challenge with a stone gesture as Nedroscik opted for scissor gesture. She was screaming in joy following her win. Sharing the light-hearted video, Maher wrote,

"Don’t mind the loud gum chewing @dancingwiththestars."

Nedroscik commented on the video,

"0-1, next time you’re going down 😤😤"

Along with Stephen Nedroscik, Ilona Maher will compete against Tori Spelling and Eric Roberts, American basketball center Dwight Howard, and American football wide receiver Daniel Amendola in the 33rd season of Dancing With the Stars.

In an interview with USA Today, the Olympic bronze medalist expressed her excitement ahead of her appearance while admitting to having subpar dancing skills.

“It’s almost like this is a cool rite of passage,” she said. “A lot of rugby is just going full force and throwing your body at” your opponent. “So we’ll see how I can move my body here.

“My dance skills, I don’t think, are really up to par. My dance-with-my-friends vibe skills are OK, but my ballroom is zero."

However, she stated her excitement in getting dressed up and featuring glamorous looks.

“I love getting dressed up. It’ll be really fun to wear more sparkles and more sequins.”

Ilona Maher will be accompanied by Alan Bersten, an American professional Latin and ballroom dancer.
