Jordan Chiles, who is currently a part of the Gold Over America Tour team, was recently seen grooving on a trend with her team, which included Hezly Rivera and Jade Carey. Chiles recently concluded her Paris Olympics campaign with one gold medal.
Chiles had a roller-coaster experience at the 2024 Paris Olympics, as she won a gold medal in the team all-around event, where she with the women's gymnastics team registered a score of 171.296 points, trouncing Italy and Brazil, who posted 165.494 and 164.497 points, securing second and third place, respectively.
Following this, the 23-year-old was stripped of her bronze medal, which she won in the floor exercise after an appeal was made by her team. Initially, Chiles secured the fifth place, scoring 13.666, and the third place was then secured by the Romanian gymnast, Ana Barbosu. However, Team USA's gymnast Cecile Landi appealed to recheck Chiles' difficulty score, which was then updated to 13.766 by the judges, and the gymnast was given the bronze medal.
However, days after this, the American gymnast was ripped off her medal, following the Court of Arbitration for Sport revealed that the appeal made by Landi was four seconds later than the allowed time, which again placed Barbosu in third place. Following this heartbreaking experience, Chiles made a comeback in the Gold Over America Tour and was recently seen having fun with her team.
Peng-Peng Lee, who is also a gymnast, shared a video on her Instagram where Jordan Chiles, Rivera, and Carey, were seen doing the 'hand up on my hip' challenge together. The caption of the video carried:
"When I dip, U dip, WE dip! This Gold Over America tour is LIT."
Here is the video of the trend, done by the gymnasts:
Jordan Chiles broke into tears after getting ripped off her bronze medal at the Paris Olympics
Jordan Chiles attended the Forbes' Power Women's Summit, after the bronze medal controversy at the Paris Olympics. She opened up about the incident at the summit and said her identity was taken from her with the bronze medal and highlighted the partiality she faced and said:
"The biggest thing that was taken from me was, it was the recognition of who I was. Not just my sport, but the person I am." said Jordan Chiles.
The gymnast broke down in tears and revealed that the criticism she faced on social media was not because of her medal, but because of her 'skin color'.
"It’s not about the medal. It’s about my skin color. It’s about the fact there were things that have led up to this position of being an athlete. And I felt like everything has been stripped. I felt like when I was back in 2018 where I did lose the love of the sport, I lost it again."
Jordan Chiles is currently performing at the Gold Over America Tour beside Simone Biles, Jade Carey, Joscelyn Roberson, Hezly Rivera, Paul JUda, Fred Richard, Brody Malone, and many others. The team's next performance will be in Chicago on September 29.
