Katie Ledecky was spotted cheering passionately for Boby Finke during the men's 1500m freestyle a day after winning a record fourth title in the women's 800m freestyle. Finke broke the world record with an incredible swim, winning a second successive gold medal in the event.

Ledecky started off her Paris Olympics campaign in the 400m freestyle but lost out to Ariarne Titmus and Summer McIntosh in the finals. After winning the bronze medal, Ledecky took on her premier event, the 1500m freestyle, and won her second consecutive gold medal in the event with a new Olympic record.

After her 1500m gold, Ledecky became tied with three American swimmers for the most Olympic medals won by a female swimmer in history. She broke the tie on August 3 after winning the 800m freestyle in a close battle with Ariarne Titmus. A day later, she was spotted ringing the famous American ‘cowbell’ as her teammate and training partner Bobby Finke stormed to a world record.

Contrary to his usual racing style, Finke went in the front from the start and was always ahead of the world record pace. He clocked a sensational 14:30.67 to take 0.35 off Sun Yang's record from 2012. He also became the first American male swimmer to win an individual gold medal at the Paris Olympics as Team USA has so far endured an underwhelming campaign.

Finke's gold medal meant that the USA swimming team continued its streak of winning individual gold medals from 1904, and Katie Ledecky couldn't be happier. The 27-year-old was spotted cheering passionately for Finke, and as the American touched the finish line, Ledecky was seen jumping in excitement.

Katie Ledecky won her first Olympic gold medal in London in 2012. She entered the 800m freestyle as a rookie and came out of the pool as the Olympic champion at just 15 years of age. 12 years later, she won the event for the fourth time, breaking plenty of records in the process.

Ledecky became the first female swimmer to win the Olympic title four times in a single event. Only Michael Phelps has achieved such a feat among all athletes. It also marked Ledecky’s 9th gold medal, one that tied her with Soviet Union gymnast Larisa Latynina as the female athlete with the most Olympic gold medals.

Katie Ledecky also became the most decorated female swimmer of all time with 14 medals, nine of which are gold. The 27-year-old isn't done yet and will be up for more at the 2028 LA Olympics
