Lindsey Vonn and her dog surfed together on an electrical hydrofoil surfboard, gearing up for the weekend. Vonn retired from alpine skiing in 2019 but her penchant for sporting activities continues to be seen.
Lindsey Vonn, the former alpine skier, won the downhill gold at the 2010 Olympic Games. She added to her list of laurels through an impressive 82 World Cup wins, securing the third-highest super-ranking position behind Mikaela Shiffrin and Ingemar Stenmark.
She brought an end to her illustrious alpine skiing career in 2019 in the wake of injuries. But she has not kept herself away from the sporting world. An avid follower of F1 and tennis, Vonn is also a major investor in the National Women's Soccer League 2024 expansion side, Utah Royals FC.
In her recent Instagram post, days after her knee replacement surgery, Vonn was seen surfing on an electric board with her dog Lucy beside her.
"Cruising into the weekend with my dogs like….," Vonn captioned the post.
Lucy, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, was on the Lift Foil surfboard with Vonn. She can be seen in the video sitting still and enjoying her ride around the lake.
In 2020, Lucy accompanied Vonn to the Olympics and also co-hosted the Prime Video reality show, 'The Pack', a reality show featuring twelve dogs and their humans competing in pairs. The puppy has three siblings, a sister, Jade (Belgian Malinois), and two brothers, Leo (Boxer, American Staffordshire Terrier and Lab mix) and Bear (Chow Retriever).
Lindsey Vonn also has an Instagram page dedicated to her dogs. The Instagram account, called 'vonndogs', has amassed over 38000 followers already.
Lindsey Vonn - "Dogs are the best medicine in times like these.."
Lindsey Vonn has garnered fame for her alpine skiing talent but unfortunately has also faced numerous injuries throughout her 19-year-long career. Recently, she underwent another knee replacement surgery and put a hold on her outdoor activities in the days following that.
During that time, her adopted furry friend, Leo, lifted her spirits and acted as the best medicine.
"Dogs are the best medicine in times like these… I adopted Leo right before my 2nd ACL surgery and he’s been with me through all my surgeries since. Leo was hit by a car before I adopted him and he’s got almost as many screws in his leg as I do. He never likes it when I cry but he always knows when I’m hurt and he doesn’t leave my side," Vonn wrote in her Instagram caption.
