American retired Winter Olympian Lindsey Vonn shared glimpses of her early morning training ahead of her rumored comeback to alpine skiing at the World Cup opener in Sölden, Austria. If the reports are to be believed, then the former Olympic champion will be back on the slopes after nearly 5.7 years.
With over 15 years of excellence, Vonn has established herself as one of the greatest skiers of all time. She boasts an impressive three Olympic medals: one gold and two silver. The 40-year-old has also garnered an impressive eight World Championship medals, including two gold, three silver, and three bronze. In addition, the American previously held a world record for the most World Cup wins with a total of 82 victories, a record later surpassed by her compatriot Mikaela Shiffrin.
Following an incredible career, Vonn retired from the sport in 2019 after securing a bronze medal at the World Championships in Åre, Sweden. However, in a recent update, Cision News shared a press release where they revealed that Lindsey Vonn is among the list of competitors gearing up to participate in the World Cup Opening event in Sölden on Friday, October 25.
Adding to her comeback speculations, the 40-year-old also shared an early morning training routine on her Instagram handle from Solden.
"Early mornings in Sölden… nothing makes me happier," she wrote in the caption.

A few months ago, Lindsey Vonn underwent knee replacement surgery, and shortly after her recovery, the Saint Paul, Minnesota, native noted that she felt as though fresh opportunities were unfolding before her eyes.
"Every day is a victory! Proud of how far I’ve come on this journey of life. I’ve had a lot of highs and a lot of lows but nothing has ever broken my spirit. I thank my Mother for that," she wrote on her Instagram
She added:
"With this new knee that is now a part of me… I feel like a whole new chapter of my life is unfolding before my eyes. My adventurous spirit feels full of gratitude. To do the things you love to do is truly a blessing and I don’t take it for granted. I don’t know exactly what lies ahead but I know I’m healthy, happy and grateful."
Despite the speculation about her comeback to alpine skiing, Lindsey Vonn has yet to confirm anything.
