Sha'Carri Richardson competed in her maiden Olympics in Paris this year and won two medals. Days after her performances at the Games, a wholesome video of a little girl seemingly inspired by the American athlete is making rounds on the internet.
Richardson participated in the 2024 edition of the Summer Games following dominant performances in the US Olympic Trials. She clinched a silver medal in the 100m dash in Paris after clocking 10.87s, finishing behind Julien Alfred who clinched the gold after recording a time of 10.72s. The bronze was claimed by Melissa Jefferson who clocked 10.92s.
The 24-year-old also clinched the gold in the women's 4x100m relay alongside Melissa Jefferson, Gabby Thomas, and Twanisha Terry as they clocked a time of 41.78s. They bested Great Britain and Germany who posted 41.85s and 41.97s respectively.
A few days after Richardson's exploits at the Olympics, a video went viral on the internet where a little girl was seen running in a field, and when asked if she was running for Team USA, she said "yes" and that her name was "Sha'Carri Richardson." Watch the video below:

Sha'Carri Richardson opens up about her first Olympic gold
Sha'Carri Richardson missed the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and made her Olympic debut in Paris. After attaining silver in the 100m dash, Richardson won her first gold in the 4x100m relay event at the Paris Olympics.
Team USA clocked 41.78s in the event to win the gold. Richardson spoke about the win after the race and said that it was a 'phenomenal feeling' for the entire team.
"The moment that I realized that when we won, the USA ladies, it was a phenomenal feeling for all of us," Richardson said (via Olympics.com).
Talking about the team, she said:
"I was very comfortable with this team. I just remember trusting Gabby and knowing that she's going to put this thing in my hand no matter what. I wanted to leave my best on the track."
Days after the win, Richardson also spoke about racing alongside Gabby Thomas in an interview with Refinery29.
"I don't hear anybody else but Gabby. If it's not her voice, I can't hear it," Richardson said. "Everything else is a blur. Gabby’s voice automatically sends me into a place of determination and it sends me into a place of I know what time it is."
Sha'Carri Richardson, Melissa Jefferson, Gabby Thomas, and Twanisha Terry previously ran together to win the gold in the 4x100m relay at the 2023 World Championships and 2024 World Athletics Relays.
