LSU gymnasts are celebrating their first-ever NCAA Championship win with a record point of 198.225. The Tigers made their mark from the start with the highest score on the floor, a 49.6125, the highest in a championship final in school history.
LSU gymnastics highlighted that the Tigers' win marked the 52nd in the history of LSU athletics. The team shared their historic win on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
"It all comes back to The Climb Signing off for the night the best way we know how Love, Your natty champs"
LSU's winning gymnasts sang their victory song, The Climb, by Grammy Award-winner Miley Cyrus:
"There's always gonna be another mountain, I'm always gonna wanna make it move, Always gonna be an uphill battle, Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose, Ain't about how fast I get there, Ain't about what's waiting on the other side, It's the climb"

LSU will continue its celebrations. According to LSU Sports, LSU Gymnastics will host a welcome event at 12.30 p.m. CT Sunday for the NCAA Championships at the gymnastics training facility.
There will also be a parade on April 24:
LSU Gymnastics Coach Jay Clark says championship was so packed with emotion
LSU coach Jay Clark was overwhelmed with his team's historic win. He said he was speechless. Coming to terms with LSU Gymnastics Tigers record win, Clark told ESPN that the two-time defending champion Oklahoma's absence was felt.
He said:
"Every team was out there fighting for their lives and all the four teams, it could have gone any of four ways out there today. I think as much as I feel for what happened to Oklahoma in the semifinals."
The coach added:
"I think it made for a championship that became so packed with emotion because every team out there believed they could do it, and it was just tremendous."
Clark highlighted that the girls did everything:
"They did everything we asked them to all year long," he said It feels fantastic and I'm just so happy for them. I'm speechless." (via LSU Tigers Wire)
The LSU Tigers claimed three of the five best team scores in school history. The popular team finally won the NCAA Women's Championship after being the national runner-up three times.
