Noah Lyles and his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield have showcased their impressive dance skills as they celebrate making the second Olympic team. Lyles and Bromfield are among the couples that will be plying their trade for respective countries in Paris.
The TikTok video posted by Bromfield was reshared by Lyles on his Instagram page where the couple are seen wearing their respective jerseys for the USA and Jamaica respectively as they showcase the Olympic Games rings.
The triple world champion, who is gearing up for his triple gold campaign, captioned the video:
"2-time Olympians. #paris2024 #olympics @teamusa."
Lyles and Bromfield will both be making their second appearances at the Olympic Games, following their debuts at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Lyles won a bronze medal in the men’s 200m and did not compete in the relay races. On her part, Bromfield was in action in the women’s 4x400m and mixed relay that won silver and gold respectively.
This year, Bromfield has qualified for the women’s 400m after finishing third at the Jamaican Olympic trials, where she clocked 51.24 to cross the finish line.
Meanwhile, Noah Lyles will compete in the men’s 100m and 200m after punching his direct ticket by winning the two races at the U.S. Olympic trials. Courtesy of winning the men’s 100m, he has automatically qualified for the 4x100m relay.
After sealing his Olympic ticket, Noah Lyles raced at the Diamond League Meeting in London, where he pipped Akani Simbine and Letsile Tebogo to take top honors in the men’s 100m.
Noah Lyles spills secrets told by girlfriend Junelle Bromfield concerning track rival Kishane Thompson
Noah Lyles spilled all the beans about what his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield tells him about the Jamaican track and field drama.
The American Sprint King revealed that having his girlfriend training at the MVP track club has gained him a lot of information concerning Jamaican athletes, some of them being his rivals Kishane Thompson and Oblique Seville.
Speaking in a video shared by "Track Spice" on X, Noah Lyles disclosed that Bromfield is very close to Thompson, who is a serious threat to his chances of winning a gold medal at the Olympics. Thompson is the 100m world leader with a time of 9.77 that he clocked to win the 100m at the Jamaican Olympic trials.
The three-time world 200m champion added that he is aware of Thompson’s struggle with injuries, hence being skeptical about his form ahead of the 100m duel.
"Talking about Kishane and Oblique, she is very close to Kishane. I mean, I’ve known a lot of people that others might not have any idea about. Junelle’s eye for talent is very strong and if she says someone is going to run fast, they will," Lyles said.
"I said that about Kishane because I know his struggle with injuries and I knew that when he runs fast, he might not be able to finish a race but seeing him win races is actually good. I’m dating Junelle and we have a good relationship with them and it’s just a rivalry. Everybody wants to take shots at the king but at the end of the day, there is nothing much to talk about," he added.
Lyles will face strong opposition from the Jamaican charge as he looks to cement his place in the men’s 100m at the Olympic Games.
He will be up against the young trio of Thompson, Seville, and Ackeem Blake who will hunt for a podium finish. They have also been tasked to reclaim Jamaica’s glory since the retirement of Usain Bolt in 2017.
