Alica Schmidt grabbed fans' attention with her charismatic fashion sense and Porsche 911 Carrera. The athlete completed her four-week vacation in the Maldives, Italy, and Thailand, during the off-season, after the Paris Olympics upset.
Schmidt's 2024 Summer Games did not pan out as expected, as she wasn't able to make the finals. She and her team failed to qualify for the finals of the 4x400m relay by achieving a seventh-place finish in Heat 2 of the race. They faced the same fate in the mixed 4x400m relay, claiming seventh place in the event, which led to their disqualification from the finals.
Following this heartbreak in Paris, Schmidt went on a four-week vacation and shared multiple glimpses of her time on the vacation on her social media. However, after she wrapped up her event, the German turned heads with yet another video on Instagram, where she donned a black, long leather coat and walked towards her car with a cup of coffee in her hand. She then sat inside her car and started its engine. The post's caption read:
"Coat season has started."
Schmidt also added the specifics about the car and wrote:
"911 Carrera 4S (WLTP): Kraftstoffverbrauch kombiniert: 11,1 - 10,5 1/100 km; CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 253 - 239 g/km; CO2-Klasse: G; Stand 04/2024."
Alica Schmidt opened up about her heartbreak at the Paris Olympics
Following the major upset at the Paris Olympics, Alica Schmidt shared a heartfelt note on her social media. She uploaded a bunch of pictures that carried moments from her time at the event.
Schmidt also added a note in the caption of the post, where she wrote about the significance of the Olympics and how the weeks during the event were a roller-coaster for her. She also wrote about learnings from the competition and her will to improve.
"The Olympics are not just about winning medals. It‘s about being alongside inspiring athletes while competing at the highest level. Showing ambition, celebrating diversity and people no matter who they are and where they are from. The past weeks were an emotional rollercoaster and I was able to learn a lot. As an athlete I am still not where I want to be and maybe I will never be. But the one thing that is for sure: I will never stop trying and figuring out ways to improve. I love taking you guys with me on this journey and hope to inspire young athletes and show how amazing this sport can be!" Schmidt wrote.
Schmidt also added an encouraging message for the athletes who failed to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
"Everyone who knows sport is aware that it takes a village getting there and all athletes can be so proud of themselves for making the team! And to those athletes who didn‘t make it to Paris this year, never stop believing in yourself. It‘s a bumpy road and one day all your hard work will eventually pay off!"
