Sha'Carri Richardson recently raced against a group of male American athletes, including Kenny Bednarek, Christain Coleman, during a 'Star Athletics' training session. This race was part of their preparation as they and their counterparts approach the end of their 2024 season following the Diamond League finals.
Richardson participated in her maiden Olympic Games in Paris after being dropped off the US lineup for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to a positive cannabis test. However, she redeemed herself in the French competition, securing a silver in the 100m event with a time of 10.87 seconds, finishing just behind Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia. Following that, she raced her 4x100m relay team to victory in the finals, claiming the first Olympic gold of her career.
However, since her Paris Olympics appearance, Richardson has yet to race again. She is set to participate in the 14th and penultimate meeting of the Wanda Diamond League in Zurich to be held on September 5. To prepare for this, she is currently sweating it out in the training sessions, as witnessed recently when she took part in a training camp with Star Athletics, an elite track club in Florida.
At the camp, Sha'Carri Richardson competed against a group of elite American athletes, including Kenny Bednarek, Kyree King, and Christian Coleman. Star Athletics, in collaboration with Bednarek, shared a video of the race on their Instagram account on Thursday.
"It’s time to finish strong," the caption read.

At the recently concluded Paris Olympics, Sha'Carri Richardson was given the responsibility to run the anchor leg during the women's 4x100m relay, and she delivered when it mattered the most. With the US team trailing in fourth place, she received the baton and surged ahead, propelling her team to victory with a time of 41.78s.
Speaking about her thoughts during the finals, the Dallas, Texas native said (via Refinery 29),
"We just knew that if we were our very best and executed, we had the confidence and the faith. Not even just confidence, but the faith that we had in the practices that we put in, and the ability that each lady had, and also the trust that we had in each other."
"We knew that no matter what we were going to do our very best and ultimately deliver the gold. And so I literally just trusted every single body before me and it almost was like a chain reaction," she added
The 24-year-old also applauded her teammates, Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry, and Gabby Thomas, for setting the stage for the victory.
