Simone Biles is all set to qualify for her third consecutive Olympics which is less than a month away from starting in Paris. The five-time Olympic individual champion took to the mat in Minneapolis ahead of the U.S. Gymnastics Olympic Trials 2024 on June 26. During a podium training session, the 27-year-old performed a breathtaking balance beam routine.
After a relatively disappointing campaign at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, majorly because of twisties, Biles will be eyeing to sweep all four apparatus as well as the all-around gold at the Paris Olympics. She started her 2024 season at the U.S. Classic 2024, and as expected, she won the all-around competition with a score 59.500.
Continuing her dominance, Biles swept all five available gold medals at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships 2024. A score of 119.750 secured her the record-extending ninth national all-around title. As she sets foot in Minneapolis, Biles looks ready to win her third consecutive U.S. Trials all-around title.
Simone Biles took to the mat alongside Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles and others during the podium training on Wednesday, June 26. She performed a sensational balance beam routine at the Target Center, host of the trials. Biles' routine was composed of a Triple Wolf Turn, a Back Pike, and others. Watch the video below:
Simone Biles is the overwhelming favorite to take the automatic one out of five spots on Team USA, which is awarded to the highest scorer in the all-around competition. If Biles does make it to the Paris Olympics 2024, she will be the first American artistic gymnast to compete in three consecutive Olympic Games since Dominique Dawes in 1992,1996 and the 2000 Olympic Games.
