Skye Blakely grabbed the attention of the netizens after sharing a new challenge where she was seen answering questions while doing a handstand. The 19-year-old is aiming for a comeback after she couldn't compete at the Paris Olympics as the gymnast sustained an injury just ahead of the US gymnastics trials.
Blakely commenced her 2024 season with a smooth start at the 2024 Winter Cup, where she won gold in the balance beam and silver in the all-around. Following this, she competed in the US Championships, where she competed in the all-around event and finished in second place behind Simone Biles. Along with this, she also earned a second-place finish on the vault and a third-place finish on the balance beam and uneven bars.
The 19-year-old's performances gave her the ticket to compete at the US Olympic trials; however, things took an unfortunate turn for the gymnast after she sustained an injury during the official practice mat just a day ahead of the trials. The American fell while trying a double layout on the floor routine and left the practice in a wheelchair. She sustained an Achilles tendon injury and had to undergo surgery.
Weeks after this unfortunate incident, Skye Blakely tried her hands at a new impressive challenge on her Instagram. She shared a video of her and Kyla DiCello doing a challenge of 'Come do 10 questions' where they were seen answering ten questions while doing handstands on the bars.
Blakely did a smooth handstand on the bar and answered questions like her favorite food, color, season, and several others asked by DiCello. Here is the conversation between the two gymnasts during the challenge.
"Food- Chicken and waffles, color - blue, major- health education behavior, vacation spot - Turks and Caicos, drink - lemonade, season - summer, dessert - brownies, event - bars, animal - my dog, skill - double front half."
