Stephen Nedoroscik has returned to the pommel horse after his stint on Dancing With The Stars, and he's just as good as ever. Recently, the American attended a USA Gymnastics national camp and shared an insight into his training with fans.

For Nedoroscik, 2024 has been an incredible year, both in and away from the gym. He began his season with a shared gold on the pommel horse at the Baku World Cup, before going on to win the US National Championships and the US Olympic Trials silver in the event. He then moved on to the Paris Olympics, where he helped USA win team bronze, before going on to win the individual pommel horse bronze medal himself.

After his exploits at the Games, Nedoroscik appeared on reality TV show Dancing With The Stars, making it to the finals. Now, the gymnast has returned to training, and recently attended a USA Gymnastics national team camp. Taking to Instagram after the camp, Stephen Nedoroscik shared a video of himself training on the pommel horse, showing off the times he ‘broke physics’ with his moves. He captioned the video,

Stephen Nedoroscik is undoubtedly the face of men's gymnastics in the US, and he is famous for his prowess on the pommel horse. However, the 25-year-old only competes in the one event, having chosen to specialise in it while in college.

Opening up about his decision to focus on a singular event, Nedoroscik told New England Public Media that he always excelled on the pommel horse. He said:

“Back when I was training in Sterling, Massachusetts, I started to get better and better at the pommel horse. I remember one day a coach just visiting saw me on pommel horse and said, "Dang, you're really good. One day you could be a national champion at that." And I really didn't know how good I was, compared to anyone else. I was really just competing regionally. But — sure enough — that next year I made nationals and I won the J.O. (Junior Olympic) national title on pommel horse.”

He went on to explain that he originally intended to compete in multiple events, but opted to stick with the pommel horse in order to master it,

“I started talking with colleges and decided to go to Penn State. I was planning on doing more than just the pommel horse, but you know, when you go from a club gym to a collegiate gym, you see just how talented gymnasts really are in this nation. And purely just wanting to be the best at pommel horse at Penn State, I decided to specialize. And I've stuck with that ever since.”

Outside of his Olympic exploits on the pommel horse, Stephen Nedoroscik is also a World Champion in the event. In 2021, the American won gold at the Kitakyushu World Championships, becoming the first gymnast from the nation to achieve this feat.
