Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and her former NFL player husband Andre Levrone shared the spotlight at the 2024 World Athletics Awards Red Carpet in Monaco on December 1. She was crowned Female Track Athlete of the Year, her second time winning the award.

The couple stole the show on the red carpet in matching colors. McLaughlin-Levrone dazzled in a sleeveless black dress featuring cut-out details on the neckline while Andre wore a formal black and white suit for the ceremony.

Other top athletes gracing the red carpet included Letsile Tebogo, Sifan Hasan, and Yaroslava Mahuchikh.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone had pipped St. Lucian sprinter Julien Alfred for the top World Athletics honor. The 25-year-old won two Olympic gold medals and set two world records during the 2024 season while Alfred boasted an Olympic gold and a silver medal alongside the 100m Diamond League trophy.

The American hurdler and Andre met in 2020 and were in a romantic relationship for two years before getting married in a vineyard wedding ceremony in 2022.

While Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone was the pre-tournament favorite for the 400m hurdles title at the Paris Olympics, an easy win wasn't guaranteed for the defending champion with competitors such as Femke Bol clocking impressive times. However, it proved easy again for the American as she stormed to another world record, winning the gold by a mammoth 1.90s. Her husband Andre Levrone, present in the stands, was on cloud nine following her victory.

Describing his emotions in an interview with NBC, the former NFL player said:

"I'm incredibly proud of her. I can't even put it into words. There was just sheer emotion coming through me last night at the race. But, the work ethic that she mentioned; she worked incredibly hard. We're always there encouraging her practice. But, yesterday, before the race, just seeing the confidence and the trust and the faith that she had in God, in her work ethic and the plan that her coach had put into place for her, I can't describe it in words. It's beautiful."

McLaughlin-Levrone clocked 50.37s for her second 400m hurdles Olympic title, her second world record of the year. She won another gold medal in the 4x400m relay, clocking the third-fastest split in history, 47.72s, on the second leg.
