Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has done it again. The United States track and field contingent added one more feather to its crown after winning the women's 4x400m relay gold at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. Their victory was one of the most commanding finishes to a race at these Summer Games, as they set a new national record.
The American star-studded quartet of Gabby Thomas, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Shamier Little, and Alexis Holmes reigned supreme at the Stade de France, bringing the United States their eighth consecutive Olympic gold in the women's 4x400m relay with a time of 3:15.27.

McLaughlin-Levrone gave her team a huge, much-needed lead after running her lap in 47.70 seconds. She passed the baton to the 200m Olympic champion Gabby Thomas, who finished in a blistering time of 49.30 seconds. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone came close to setting another world record at Paris Olympics
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone broke her own world record during the 400m hurdles finals at the Paris Olympics on Friday, August 9. She edged out her Dutch rival, Femke Bol, to defend her Olympic title with a time of 50.37 seconds. On Saturday, she ran the fastest lap among her relay team, shattering the national record.
The women's relay team nearly broke the Soviet Union's 4x400m relay world record of 3:15.17. However, their finish of 3:15.27 is just 0.10 seconds shy of it. It still marks the second-fastest time in the world. Notably, this was the last track and field event of the ongoing Paris Olympics.
