The Paris Olympics opening ceremony kicked off with people dressed in historical Greek attire starting the parade on the river Seine. They were followed by the Olympic Refugee team in second and Team USA entered the parade second last, being the hosts of the next Olympic Games, and their parade was the largest of all.
The USA selected a contingent of 592 athletes for the Paris Olympics 2024 with the majority of them being from track and field, a little over 20%. 16-year-old gymnast Hezly Rivera is the youngest member of the team while equestrian Steffen Peters is the oldest at 59 years.
As the athletes started trickling down to Paris, USA announced basketball icon LeBron James as the men's flag bearer for the nation. Tennis ace Coco Gauff was chosen as the female flag bearer of Team USA for the Paris Olympics 2024.
The nation showed its strength during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony. While over five countries were parading on a singular boat, Team USA was assigned a separate boat for its large contingent. With the American flag flying at the front of the boat, the athletes jumped for joy, waving to a rousing crowd on the banks of the Seine.

The nation won a staggering 113 medals at the previous Games, which comprised 39 gold, 41 silver and 33 bronze medals. China and Russia were second and third with 89 and 71 medals respectively.
