A few days ago, the Paralympic champion had shared his thoughts on the gold medal clinched by his wife Tara at the Paris Olympics. In the video uploaded on their YouTube channel 'The Woodhalls', Hunter Woodhall mentioned:

"You know what, actually funny enough like the first gold medal that I ever held or touched was her's and I was so enthralled by like how incredible it was, I like asked her permission like she's my wife and I was like, do you think it's all right I touch the medal." (8:25 onwards)

Davis-Woodhall immediately added:

"I literally threw it at him, I was like you got me this too."

Hunter Woodhall won his first Paralympic gold medal in the 400m event [T64 category] at the Paris Olympics. His wife Tara Davis-Woodhall clinched her first Olympic gold medal in the women's long jump, after finishing fourth at the previous edition in Tokyo. With this, the couple became the first husband and wife pair to win the gold medals at the same edition of the Olympics and the Paralympics respectively.

Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall talked about how social media changed their lives for the better, apart from bringing financial stability. On the podcast 'Beyond the Records', conducted by Olympic champions Rai Benjamin and Noah Lyles, the Paralympic champion mentioned:

"We’re in non-money-making events. Women’s long jump, Paralympics—it’s like zero dollars. We knew from the beginning that if we wanted to live the life we dreamed of, we’d have to find another way to make it happen.” (8:42 onwards)

Davis-Woodhall then talked about how they started their journey on social media, and found more fame online than on the track. In her words:

"We were finding more financial stability through social media. That gave us the freedom to focus 100% on our sport and chase our goals.”

Tara Davis-Woodhall is preparing for the upcoming World Championships, which will be held in Tokyo.

On the other hand, Hunter Woodhall is looking forward to mark his presence at the Para World Championships, which shall be held in New Delhi in late 2025.
