Yaroslava Mahuchikh spoke to the media after breaking the World record at the Paris Diamond League.
"You know, before I came to mix zone, I didn't believe that I did it. It's fantastic but it is the work that I did with my team of course and I am really happy because the jumps before 2.10m were not good," she said.

She also won the high jump gold at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest ahead of Australians Eleanor Patterson and Nicola Olyslagers. The Ukrainian cleared a distance of 2.01m. Mahuchikh is currently the World No. 1 in high jump as per World Athletics.
