Junelle Bromfield recently showcased her rap skills, with boyfriend Noah Lyles gassing her up as a backup singer. Bromfield and Lyles were jamming to beats during a break in training.
The couple are gearing up for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and in the lyrics, the Jamaican fired warning shots at their opponents, noting that they are training for the medals.
Bromfield punched her ticket to the Olympics after completing the podium in the women’s 400m at the Jamaican Olympic trials, clocking 51.24 to cross the finish line. She has also been included in the women’s 4x400m relay team.
Lyles made the cut to the U.S. Olympic team following his stunning performance at the trials, winning the 100m and 200m. In the 100m, the triple world champion equaled his personal best time to win in 9.83. In the 200m, he shattered Michael Johnson’s 28-year-old meet record to clock 19.53.
In the video shared by Junelle Bromfield on her Instagram page, she also aimed a dig at her haters and insisted that she has a lot of fans who never fail to turn up for herself and Lyles.
"It’s 9 am Monday, it’s 86 degrees, I’m at the track and my man is right here with me. We are about to kill this record because medals aren’t for free," she sang.
"Gotta put the work in because Olympics is where we’ll be. Turned up with my baby, turned up with my boo, turned up with my partner and we are about to come for you. 80 million fans came to see a do or dance got a million and one haters but they all can kiss my a**."
Jamming to Bromfield’s exceptional rapping skills, three-time world 200m champion Lyles would chime in occasionally, saying:
"Yeah."
Junelle Bromfield and Noah Lyles set ambitious targets for Paris 2024 Olympic Games
Junelle Bromfield and Noah Lyles want to win all the races they will be competing in at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and make history as the "winningest couple."
Bromfield has been selected for the 400m and women’s 4x400m relay and will be looking to propel Team Jamaica to the top of the world. Lyles will be competing in the 100m, 200m and men’s 4x100m and he also hopes to be included in the 4x400m relay as he chases history at the Olympics.
In a video shared by Bromfield on her Tiktok, Lyles expressed confidence in their ability to win all their races and get featured in their very own movie, just like the latest Sprint docuseries that features the lives of Lyles, Sha’Carri Richardson, Shericka Jackson, and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce among other sprinters.
"We go to the Olympics, I win every race, you win every race, we come back as the most winningest couple…that’s crazy. We shall get a whole movie. They (Box to Box Films) will make a movie based on our one year," Lyles said.
"You see that right…You picking up what I’m pointing out. Alright, don’t drop it. You got the vision? You’re ready to make it happen?"
Junelle Bromfield nodded in agreement and affirmed that she was ready to make the magic happen.
"I see that baby… I’m picking up what you’re putting there and I won’t drop it. I got the vision… I’m ready to make it happen. We are going to be the most winningest couple," she said.
Junelle Bromfield will compete in her first individual event at this year’s Olympic Games after playing a vital part in the women’s 4x400m relay and the mixed relay that won a silver and bronze medal at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
On his part, Lyles will have a chance to win his first Olympic gold medal, having won a bronze in the 200m in Tokyo.
