Tara Davis-Woodhall's husband and Paralympian, Hunter Woodhall, teased his wife for carrying a heavy handbag and joked about her carrying bricks in it. The couple recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary together.
The long jump athlete and the paralympic athlete had a successful 2024 season, as they both won their first Olympic gold medal at the Paris Olympics in their respective disciplines. They have been their biggest cheerleaders in this entire journey and always shared various posts for each other on social media, encouraging them for their accomplishments or cheering them for their performances.
Currently, the couple is enjoying their off-season, and they don't fail to share the adorable moments they spend together. They recently shared a video on the couple's Instagram page, 'thewoodhalls,' where Hunter was seen making fun of Davis-Woodhall's heavy handbag.
The video began with the para-athlete carrying his wife's bag and jokingly asking men to exercise with their wives' bags. The long jump athlete came out of the bathroom in the middle of the video and caught him making fun of her. In the video, Hunter said:
"Just a little fitness hack for the boys; you guys don't have time to go to the gym, don't worry. Grab your wife's bag; this is good for the core and back... What are you carrying in here? You got a brick?" Hunter Woodhall said jokingly.
The caption of the post read:
"I didn't know she was coming out yet😂 "
Hunter Woodhall once opened up about receiving a hug from Tara Davis-Woodhall in their first meeting
Hunter Woodhall and Tara Davis-Woodhall appeared on the podcast 'Ali on The Run' in 2022, where they opened up about their first meeting. Davis-Woodhall revealed that she went and hugged Hunter without having any prior conversation.
"In 2017, Hunter and I went to the Simplot Games not knowing who the heck the other was. I saw him warming up and I was like ‘wow that guy is really attractive’. So I didn't say anything, I went up to him and hugged him, while he was on the track. I said ‘I don't know why I have to do this but I have to hug you’,” said Tara Davis-Woodhall.
Following this, Hunter Woodhall explained the end of the story, saying that he was aware of who Tara was:
“Tara says we didn't know each other but I knew who Tara was, she didn't know who I was, which is fine. At the time, Tara was one of the best high-school athletes in the country, like she has national records, she's a dog. And I had just finished a 400m, so obviously my state of mind was not in the right place, you know.”
He added:
"It was the Simplot Games so the track is like two feet away from the ground so she actually had to walk up steps, like she was walking on a stage. So I (found it) kinda surreal like ‘what is going on here, why are you in front of me’. And by the time I realized what was going on it was over and she had walked away. And I spent the rest of the track meet trying to accidentally run into her to start a conversation but I got scared.”
Hunter Woodhall won his first Olympic gold medal in the T62 400m by clocking 46.36s. Tara Davis-Woodhall also won her first Olympic gold medal in the long jump event by taking a leap of 7.1m.
