Noah Lyles refused to put up his Olympic gold medals in a 100m race against Tyreek Hill. The two athletes have been going back and forth in the media ever since the commencement of the Paris Olympics.
After Lyles finished third in the 200m at the Paris Olympics, the American athlete's comments about the NBA, made during the 2023 World Athletics Championships, resurfaced on the internet, thereby leading to a lot of discussion among fans and enthusiasts.
Tyreek Hill spoke about Lyles' comments in an interview with Kay Adams and said:
“Noah Lyles can't say nothing after what just happened to him. You know what I'm saying? Then he want to come out and pretend like he's sick. I feel like that's like horseradish. So, for him to do that and say that we're not world champions of like our sport, like come on, bro, just speak on what you know about, you know what I'm saying? And that's track. I would beat Noah Lyles. No, I wouldn't beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles,” he said.
The 100m Olympic gold medalist appeared on the Dan Patrick Show and spoke about racing Tyreek Hill in the 100m. When asked whether he would put up his Olympic gold medals in the 100m race against Hill, the American athlete laughed and hilariously refused to do so.
"What has he earned to deserve that status? Play football and he is a great football player. But you don't get to jump the lines because you think you are fast. There are tons of those people in the world out there," he said. (9:40)
Noah Lyles hilariously snubs Tyreek Hill after the Paris Olympics
After Tyreek Hill claimed to beat Noah Lyles in a race, the American athlete hilariously snubbed the Dolphins wide receiver by calling him the 'cheetah guy'.
"Ummm, what's that's guy, what's the cheetah guy from football? Well, I can't remember his name. Mark! What's the football player who thinks he's fast name? Tyreek Hill," he said.
The banter between the two athletes on social media has fueled great anticipation among fans to witness a face-off on the track between them.
With Tyreek Hill holding a personal best time of 4.29s in the 40-yard dash and Lyles being the beholder of the Olympic gold medal in the 100m, the plausible race would turn out to be a great contest and source of entertainment for fans and enthusiasts.
