The indoor volleyball league, League One Volleyball Pro, short-formed LOVB, is hosting its debut edition from January 8, 2025, with the inaugural match being held in Utah. The newest league will have six professional participating teams playing 60 in-season matches in its inaugural season.
The LOVB has 54 junior clubs across 61 locations, where 14,000 athletes and 3000 coaches make a total of 1,300 teams. Founded in 2020, LOVB aims to create a pathway for players to take American professional volleyball to heights. Three experienced personalities are at the helm of LOVB: co-founder and CEO Katlyn Gao, co-founder and executive chairman Peter Hirschmann, and they are joined by broadcaster and former US Olympic Volleyball player Kevin Wong.
Some of the iconic athletes backing the league are NBA legend Kevin Durant, Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, and former WNBA MVP Candace Parker. Securing over $160 million in investments, LOVB already promises a great future ahead.
