Riley Gaines takes a dig at US Senators

Riley Gaines reacted sarcastically as US Senator John Kennedy explained the physical differences between biological males and females, claiming that men enjoyed an advantage over women in endurance sports. Although the former American swimmer wasn't critical of Kennedy, she looked at other US Senators sarcastically.

Gaines has been very vocal against the participation of biological men in women's sports. The 24-year-old was a former swimmer with the University of Kentucky, and during the 2022 NCAA Championships, she was stripped of her 5th place finish despite clocking the same time as that of transgender swimmer Lia Thomas.

Gaines accused NCAA officials of deliberately awarding the position to Thomas, and ever since the incident, she has turned into an activist against the participation of biological males in female sports. The 24-year-old also challenged the changes made in Title IX by U.S. President Joe Biden.

US Senator, John Kennedy, has also been vocal against participation of transgender persons in women's sports. He was recently addressing a session of Senators and claimed:

“Girls’ lungs are 12% smaller than boys’ lungs. Their hearts are 14% smaller. That gives boys a clear edge in endurance sports.”

Riley Gaines, who shares a similar stance on the issue, took a sarcastic dig at other Senators, who needed to be explained the difference between 'girls and boys'.

“A sitting US Senator has to explain the physical differences between girls and boys to other sitting US Senators....what a time to be an American,” she wrote on X.

President Joe Biden introduced the changes to Title IX in April this year, and it didn't go down well with Riley Gaines. The 24-year-old went on to call it the ‘most anti-woman’ pursuit she had ever seen.

"The forthcoming illegal, administrative rewrite of Title IX is the most anti-woman pursuit we've seen from the Biden Administration. It's dire we get a new administration in the White House in November," Riley Gaines expressed.

When Biden advocated for women to receive an equal share in the sports field, Gaines again criticized the U.S. President. She alleged that Biden was only acting to care about women or their opportunities.

"Don't act like you care about women or our opportunities lol. We see through your identity politics, you misogynistic dunce," she added.

Gaines also welcomed the CAS ruling against transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, who was banned from participation in women's sports.
