Gabby Thomas will compete in the 200m at the 2024 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials.

Gabby Thomas is all set to compete at the 2024 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials to secure a spot for the Paris Olympics and make her second appearance at the Games. Thomas will be seen competing in the 200m event at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

She secured a bronze medal in the 200m event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after clocking a decent time of 21.87 seconds, behind Elaine Thompson-Herah and Christine Mboma, who clocked 21.53 and 21.81 seconds, respectively.

Moreover, the 27-year-old athlete also clinched a silver medal in the 4x100m relay event along with Javianne Oliver, Teahna Daniels, and Jenna Prandini after clocking 41.45 seconds, following the Jamaican squad with 41.02 seconds. The American sprinter will compete in the 200m event at the Trials to earn the highest glory in Paris.

Apart from her Olympic glory, Gabby Thomas also secured a silver medal in the 200m event at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary after clocking a remarkable time of 21.81 seconds, behind Shericka Jackson's 21.41 seconds.

She holds the second-fastest time of the 200m in history, which she set during the last Olympic Trials by registering 21.61 seconds. At the 2024 Trials, she will lock horns with Sha'Carri Richardson, Tamara Clark, Brittany Brown, Abby Steiner, Twanisha Terry, Tamari Davis, Jenna Prandini, Anavia Battle, and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.

The athletes will compete in Round 1 of the event on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 8:51 PM E.T. The semifinal of the event is scheduled on Day 8, i.e. Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10.06 pm E.T., with the finals on June 29 at 8.27 pm E.T.

After a below-par performance at the USATF LA Grand Prix, Thomas clocked a stunning time of 22.42 seconds at the 2024 USATF NYC Grand Prix to dominate the event by defeating Tamara Clark and Jenna Prandini, who clocked 22.79 and 22.96 seconds, respectively.

The fans can tune in to Peacock, NBC, or USA Network to watch the action unfold live between Thomas and other elite sprinters in the 200m, which promises to be an edge-of-the-seat showdown.
