Noah Lyles has risen to become one of USA's most prominent sprinters. He is the defending world champion in both 100m and 200m events and will look to end USA's two-decade-old gold medal drought in the men's 100m event at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
At the Paris Olympics, Lyles will be competing in the men's 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay events. Noah Lyles will be in action from 3 August onwards when the preliminaries for the men's 100m take place.
If he qualifies, the 27-year-old will be in action on 4 August, when the semifinals and the finals for men's 100m will take place consecutively.
200m is Noah Lyles' favorite event. His personal best is just 0.01 seconds shy of Usain Bolt's long-standing Olympic record of 19.30 seconds. The heats for the 200m will take place on 5 August, followed by the repechage round on the 6th of August. If he qualifies, Lyles will feature in the semifinals for 200m on 7th August, and the finals on 8th August.
Interestingly, the 8th of August is the same day when the heats for the men's 4x100m relay event take place. It would be interesting to see if the American contingent allows him to take part in both or rests him for the finals. The finals for the men's 4x100m relay event will take place on 9 August.
Noah Lyles had previously competed at the men's 200m event in the Tokyo Olympics, where he earned a bronze medal with a timing of 19.74 seconds.
Since then, From a junior champion, Noah Lyles has gone on to clinch multiple gold medals at the IAAF Diamond League. Noah Lyles has six gold medals and one silver medal from the IAAF World Athletics Championships to his credit.
